Platelet power for youthful skin.

PRP Treatment

At Tamanna Skin & Hair, Hyderabad's premier derma salon, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a clinically proven, all-natural regenerative treatment that uses the healing power of your own blood to restore hair density, rejuvenate skin, and stimulate the body's natural repair processes. PRP has been used in regenerative medicine for decades — and in aesthetic dermatology, it has earned its place as one of the most trusted, evidence-backed treatments for hair loss and skin aging. By concentrating the platelets from your own blood and delivering them directly to target areas, PRP unleashes a potent blend of growth factors that wake up dormant follicles, rebuild collagen, and restore vitality to skin and scalp. At Tamanna, all PRP procedures are performed by our qualified dermatologists and trichologist using standardized protocols for consistent, visible results.

How PRP Works

A small volume of blood is drawn from your arm and placed in a centrifuge, which spins at high speed to separate blood components. The platelet-rich layer is carefully extracted — this concentrate contains 5–8 times the normal concentration of growth factors including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, and EGF. This platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the treatment area (scalp or skin) where the growth factors trigger cellular repair, stimulate collagen synthesis, and revitalize dormant hair follicles for natural regeneration.

FAQ

1. What is PRP and is it really effective for hair loss? + -

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a
concentration of your own platelets, rich in growth factors that naturally stimulate healing and
cell growth. Multiple clinical studies support its effectiveness for reducing hair fall and promoting
new hair growth, particularly in the early-to-moderate stages of hair loss.

2. Is PRP treatment safe? + -

Yes. Since PRP is derived entirely from your own blood, there is no
risk of allergy, infection from foreign substances, or rejection. It is one of the safest regenerative
treatments available in aesthetic dermatology.

3. How many PRP sessions are recommended for hair loss? + -

A standard course consists of
4–6 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions every 3–6 months are
recommended to sustain results. The total number of sessions depends on the degree of hair
loss and your individual response to treatment.

4. How is PRP for hair different from PRP for skin? + -

The preparation method is the same, but
the delivery and purpose differ. For hair, PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate follicles and
reduce miniaturization. For skin, PRP is delivered via micro-injections or in combination with
microneedling to stimulate collagen, improve texture, and reduce scarring.

5. When will I see results? + -

Most clients notice a significant reduction in hair fall within 4–6
weeks of starting treatment. New hair growth typically begins to appear 2–3 months into the
treatment course. Skin results, such as improved texture and glow, can be visible within 3–4
weeks.

6. Is PRP treatment painful? + -

Topical numbing cream is applied to the scalp or treatment area
before the procedure to minimize discomfort. The injections involve fine needles, and most
clients find the procedure very manageable.

7. Can PRP be combined with other treatments? + -

Yes. PRP is highly effective when combined
with:
● For hair: Scalp microneedling, low-level laser therapy, minoxidil, and oral hair
supplements
● For skin: Microneedling, laser treatments, and skin boosters Our dermatologist will
advise the best combination plan for your goals.

8. What is the difference between PRP and GFC? + -

Both use your own blood-derived
components, but GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) isolates growth factors at a higher, more
standardized concentration than PRP. GFC is generally considered a more refined and
consistent version of PRP. At Tamanna, we offer both, and our dermatologist will recommend
the most suitable option based on your hair or skin condition.

9. Are there any restrictions after PRP treatment? + -

Avoid washing your hair or applying
products to the scalp for 24 hours after scalp PRP. Avoid vigorous exercise, steam, and direct
sun exposure on the day of treatment. Our team will provide detailed post-care instructions after
your session.

10. Who is not suitable for PRP treatment? + -

PRP may not be suitable for individuals with
active scalp infections, blood disorders, those on blood-thinning medications, or with a history of
platelet dysfunction. A thorough consultation with our dermatologist will determine your eligibility.

11. How do I book an appointment? + -
